National Commission for UNESCO in the Kyrgyz Republic has prepared for distribution to the electronic version of materials national conference "Community media and their role in promoting good governance in order to achieve social justice" held in Bishkek, from 18 to 19 February 2014.97 page document present discussions of the conference and participants presentations, as well as conference recommendations on page 80, regarding:
- Access to information, as an important component good governance and social justice at local and national levels, and
- The legal environment conducive to freedom of expression in rural communities of Kyrgyzstan.

Conference Proceedings issued and published online within the project “Operationalizing good governance for social justice in Kygyzstan” which was launched in October 2011 and is carried out within 36 months to October 2014. The project aims to increase the capacity to implement the just rights of citizens to public services, especially for vulnerable groups - women, youth and children in 30 rural municipalities in seven regions of Kyrgyzstan . This project is implemented by UNESCO, UNDP, UNICEF and UN Women. The European Union participates in the financing of this project, together with the above-mentioned UN agencies.
